🏡 CROSSPOINTE UPDATES 🏡

July 2026 Newsletter

Hi Neighbors,

Hawthorne is now William Douglas. We also have a new representative to support Crosspointe. Please reach out to Garrison with your questions going forward. Please remember the best way to make sure the HOA can stay on top of work orders is to place one through the website!

🌿  Landscaping Update

A few things to keep on your radar as we head into the warmer months:

Bush Trimming — Starting July 8th

Our landscaping crew, Bland, will be coming through next week to begin trimming bushes. They will be conducting trimming in stages. You can see the blocks on the website.

If there are any bushes on your property that you would like them to skip, please let us know as soon as possible. You can:

•       Place a visible note or marker directly on the bush you want left alone, or

•       Email us at board@crosspointehomeowners.com with your address, a description of the bush, and a photo if you have one.

The more specific you can be, the better — a clear marker or photo makes sure nothing gets trimmed by mistake.

Bush Replacements & Removals — Fall 2026

Looking further ahead, the HOA and our landscaping vendor will conduct a full assessment of community bushes in Fall 2026. Bushes that are beyond their useful life, diseased, or in need of replacement will be evaluated at that time. We will share more details as that project approaches.

🌱  Weeds & Drought — What’s Going On

If you’ve noticed more weeds than usual in the common areas this season, you’re not imagining it — and drought conditions are the main reason why.

Healthy turf forms a dense canopy that naturally shades out weeds. When drought hits, grass thins out and bare patches open up — and perennial weeds, with their deeper root systems and drought-tolerant traits, are quick to move in and fill those gaps. They can reach moisture that stressed turf simply can’t access, which gives them a real competitive advantage right now.

Treatment options are limited while the drought persists. Most weeds have hardened off and are growing slowly, which reduces how well herbicides are absorbed right now. Once normal growth resumes, post-emergent herbicides can be applied more effectively — and our landscaping vendor will address weed populations at that time. If you are treating weeds on your own property, always read the herbicide label carefully and be prepared to make more than one application for full control.

Mandatory Watering Restrictions — In Effect Now

  • Odd-numbered addresses: Tuesday and Saturday.

🐾  Pet & Animal Reminders

Crosspointe is a great community for pets and their people — and a little courtesy goes a long way in keeping it that way for everyone.

As a reminder, all pet owners are responsible for the following:

•       Leash your pet at all times when outside your home. This applies throughout the community, including common areas and sidewalks.

•       Clean up after your pet immediately.

•       Be considerate of your neighbors. Not everyone is comfortable around animals.

These are community standards and, in some cases, local ordinance requirements. Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and helping keep Crosspointe clean and safe for all.

🚗  Vehicle Parking — A Few Reminders

Extended Parking in Common Areas

We have received several calls recently from neighbors concerned about vehicles that appear to have been parked in common spots for an extended period. We completely understand the concern — and we want to be upfront: the last thing we want to do is tow a neighbor's car.

If you plan to leave your vehicle parked in a common spot for more than a week, please give us a quick heads-up at board@crosspointehomeowners.com. Just include your address and a brief description of the vehicle. That way, when neighbors ask, we can let them know the car is accounted for — and everyone can rest easy.

A simple two-line email saves everyone a lot of hassle. We appreciate your help with this.

Commercial & Service Vehicles Overnight

We have also received complaints regarding commercial and service vehicles — vehicles with company signage or markings — being parked overnight in the community.

Per our community bylaws, vehicles with commercial signage may not be parked in common areas or visible driveways overnight. If you drive a work vehicle, it must be stored in your garage or covered with an appropriate vehicle cover when parked at your home.

We know this can be an inconvenience to some, and we appreciate your cooperation. These standards help maintain the appearance and property values of our neighborhood for everyone.

🗳️  Annual Meeting & Board Election — Mark Your Calendar!

Annual Meeting

August TBD [ most likely the  12th or 13th ]  ·  7:00 PM

This is one of the most important nights of the year for our community — and we want to see you there.

Every year, Crosspointe homeowners elect the Board of Directors: the three to five neighbors who volunteer their time to make the decisions that keep our community running well. This August, all five seats are up for election, each carrying what we hope will be a two-year term. The board you elect will oversee community finances, manage our relationship with Hawthorne, continue the water line replacement and tree removal projects already underway, and make the day-to-day decisions that affect every one of our 131 homes.

In a community our size, turnout genuinely matters. A strong showing means the board has a clear mandate from the neighborhood. We are hoping to see as many homeowners as possible in the room.

Come Vote

Every homeowner in good standing is eligible to vote. It takes less than an hour and it directly shapes the future of where you live. Put it on your calendar now — we will send full details on voting procedures as the meeting approaches.

Consider Running

We are also looking for homeowners who are interested in serving on the board. Here is the honest truth about what it involves: roughly 4 to 5 hours a month, mostly one monthly meeting with a little coordination in between. Hawthorne handles day-to-day operations, so the board focuses on decisions — not paperwork.

What you get in return is real. You will get to know your neighbors in a way most people never do. You will have a genuine say in the decisions that affect your home and your investment. And when something improves in this neighborhood — a hazardous tree comes down, a water line gets replaced before it fails, a common area looks better — you will know you helped make it happen.

You do not need any special background or prior HOA experience. You just need to care about this community.

If you are interested — even if you are just curious and not quite sure yet — please reach out to us at board@crosspointehomeowners.com. We are happy to answer any questions and tell you more about what the role actually looks like day to day.

Crosspointe is only as strong as the neighbors who show up.
